The blog to end all-blogs. My readership has been built upon the strength of the support I have built in the regional press.
Press reviews:
The Dudley morning Herald:
"Disenchanting, uninteresting and frankly insulting"
The Cobham & Esher Guardian:
"What is this shit?.."
This is basically an attempt to fill the hours and hours on end of free time that a first year Politics student/slacker receives.
Its better than watching the walls. Well, at least for me...
I just illegalled Emmy The Great's debut album. It's been AGES coming but it's as awesome as I'd hoped. The production on the record is really cool. The adjective that springs to mind is nice. All these folk albums that are coming out at the moment seem really prone to being over-produced with ridiculous string sections during every gap etc. First Love is really well balanced...
Check out The Easter Parade, Dylan, The City Song. Or just listen to the whole thing like you should do.
Charlie and I finally had our clubnight confirmed yesterday so we are super happy. It's all jolly exciting having something to do. Look at the flyer... fun!
However, there is loads to do: design flyers, posters, order flyers, apply for flyering license, do the flyering, download a whole shit load of music, attack people left right and centre on facebook and myspace, other day-to-day admin. It's a hassle. I don't really know what my point is here to be honest, I just felt like making a really long list. It's not even that long.
i am in possession of the new Franz album. It's not the tour de force that no one was expecting but it's still pretty fun. I can not get My Girls by Animal Collective out of my head. It's just amazing. I also just got a remix of it by some fellow called Dave Wrangler which is just as good.
Tottenham drew today. bleh bleh bleh.
I found a funny little anime-esque cartoon of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas today. I wonder if that's meant to be the Samoan on the right?! I like it...
Now listening - Belle & Sebastien - Stars of Track and Field (If You're Feeling Sinister)
Albums I'm looking forward to in 2009 (or at least that I maintain should come out this year)
Jamie T, Arctic Monkeys, Beirut, The Cribs, Dizzee?!?, Foals, Good Shoes, Jay Jay Pistolet, Justice?, Kid Harpoon, KLAXONS, MIA, Maccabees, Radiohead?, The Rakes, Rumblestrips (except I heard the new album is Ronson produced - ew.) An EP at least from Vampire Weekend please.
Can't wait for this:
And hopefully this:
(thanks Tom.)
As well as:
No alcohol for a couple of months Running some half marathons Embracing the genre of hip-hop musicaaaaaaa
Seeing the following live:
Neil Young (Glastonbury I hope) Bruce Springsteen (ditto) Robert Zimmerman (some arena somewhere)
No Karma is awesome. As is Lucifer's Jigsaw. Don't miss out. Don't be a donut.
Also downloaded Tha Carter III by Lil' Wayne today. From the few tracks I've heard it sounds off the hook. Can't wait to sink the ol' teeth into this one.
And obviously Merriweather Post Pavillion but enough harping has been done on this subject already.
Thanks Tom for telling me how to do this. I'm pretty sure if and when you add it to iTunes it won;t be in the right order but whatever trevor. Just realised I didn't even put covers for it. Also, Line In The Sand I paid for on iTunes so can't share it. Uh Oh
